        @c_rlengstrom really great question. since the value chain is a directed acyclic graph, it doesn't really allow bidirectional relationships... it's always A depends on B and not B depends on A. but clearly this doesn't quite match reality... since components are often interdependent!

      @c_rlengstrom I usually draw multiple versions of the model... what are things like when the CD depends on the CD Player? and then what are things like when the CD Player depends on the CD? both are valid, in a sense, but which one is useful to you, and in which circumstance?

    @c_rlengstrom Both of these value chains seem to be valid. But when I compare them, I do develop a preference. @swardley I'm curious how you think through interdependent relationships. How do you choose the direction of the relationship? I'm imagining flows are involved?
